Career Cruising is here!
I am excited to announce that our district has purchased a new career exploration program called “Career Cruising”. Career Cruising is an Internet-based career/college exploration and planning tool. Career Cruising can be accessed from school, from home, or wherever you have access to the Internet. Features of the program include an interest and skills assessment, career profiles, multimedia interviews, college and financial aid information, electronic career portfolio, and resume builder. To find out more about Career Cruising, I encourage you to log in using the school's access information: www.careercruising.com, username: sphs password: eagles

College visits without leaving home!

CollegeWeekLive is a wonderful site that has exploded in popularity since it premiered in 2007. For students whose families can't afford a cross-country trip, this site, billed as "the world's biggest virtual college fair", is a great alternative! Students log on to the site and see a virtual trade show with booths for over 200 colleges. The site features seminars on numerous topics including writing college essays, interviews with experts on student aid, and admissions strategies. If you "missed" a featured college presentation simply go to the archives. There are online chat sessions available. Check this one out!  www.collegeweeklive.com
